# Alderhoard > Alderhoard is a free browser game by Scott Covert: a hand-built walk-around valley with retro arcade cabinets inside it. It plays in any web browser with four arrow keys and a space bar. It borrows from the arcade and home computer games Gen X grew up on, including Breakout, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Robotron, Boulder Dash, Sokoban, and the Zork and Infocom text adventures. The game started as one small game.html in June 2026 and grew one idea at a time. It was called Grishnak until August 31, 2026, when it moved to its own domain. ## Play - [Alderhoard](https://alderhoard.com/): the valley and all its cabinets, free, no download - [Every level, one link each](https://alderhoard.com/alderhoard-levels.html): direct links to every Stonebreaker wall, Contraption yard and 3D Waka maze ## Read - [Alderhoard Dev Log](https://alderhoard.com/alderhoard-dev-log.html): how the game got built, newest first - [Full text for language models](https://alderhoard.com/llms-full.txt): the game, its cabinets and its history in one file ## Main cabinets - [Stonebreaker](https://alderhoard.com/?g=stonebreaker): a Breakout-style brick breaker where every wall adds one new idea - [Contraption](https://alderhoard.com/?g=contraption): a puzzle game of mirrors, ramps and stones that you arrange before launching a ball - [3D Waka](https://alderhoard.com/?g=waka3d): a Pac-Man-style maze game in 3D, with a new world every level - [Waka Sphere](https://alderhoard.com/?g=wakasphere): a maze wrapped around a sphere, so it has no edges - [Moonwalk](https://alderhoard.com/?g=moonwalk): walk the moon on a real curved horizon ## Optional - [Gamma Run](https://alderhoard.com/?g=gammarun): an Asteroids-style run - [Diggy J](https://alderhoard.com/?g=diggyj): a Boulder Dash-style digging game - [Scuttle](https://alderhoard.com/?g=scuttle): a dig-and-trap platformer - [Run of Five](https://alderhoard.com/?g=runoffive): a card table game, five in a row
